India

Our vision

Since 1996, KINOE has raised funds for a project called The Akanksha Foundation, which believes that providing a good basic education from an early age is the best way to help India's poorest children help themselves.

This project was founded in 1991 and has, since that time, managed to create educational opportunities for over 7,000 underprivileged children.
Its aim is to help disadvantaged children to maximize their potential and improve their life chances, through a balanced education focusing on both intellectual and emotional development.

The project aspires to provide each child it teaches with:

  • A strong educational foundation in English and Maths
  • A sense of self-esteem
  • A good time, both in and out of the classroom, to engender enthusiasm for learning

It encourages the children to dream – and gives them the means to achieve these dreams.

Did you know?

Out of every 100 children born in India today, 11 will never go to school.
