Happy Home in Kathmandu

KINOE supports Happy Home, which runs two orphanages in Kathmandu.

In 2007, the first Happy Home orphanage was established, with space for 20 children. In the summer of 2009 they moved to Kupondol, a better location in Kathmandu. In 2009, a second orphanage was opened for 15 girls who were living on the streets.

The orphanages provide a safe and healthy environment for homeless, abandoned and orphaned children. The children receive shelter, meals, clothing and healthcare. They attend nearby schools and all necessary expenses, fees and education materials are provided by Happy Home. The aim of the orphanage is to let the children experience a happy childhood.

In addition to helping the children in the orphanages, Happy Home also runs a project to help needy children in remote villages in Nepal. The project targets children who live at home, but whose families cannot afford to send them to school.
