Akanksha Canada begins fundraising

KINOE is pleased to announce that a new organization raising funds for education has been set up in Montreal.

Eve Poirier and three friends have set up Akanksha Canada.

Eve Poirier has been a member of the Québec Bar since 1993, and practiced civil and corporate law  before heading up the Legal Department leading Canadian media company. Since October 2010, she has been Policy Manager at the Secretariat of the Canadian Securities Administrators/Autorités canadiennes en valeurs mobilières

In January 2010, she travelled to India. One of the highlights of her stay in Mumbai was a visit to a school run by The Akanksha Foundation. On her return to Canada, she shared her experience and her pictures with friends whom she invited to donate to Akanksha. As a result, three of them, Stéphanie Beauregard, Stéphane Ethier, and Myra Khanna decided to join with Eve in setting up a fundraising branch of Akanksha in Canada.
